Notification of changes to the Osaka Prefecture accommodation tax system

Starting in September 2025, Osaka Prefecture will implement the following changes to its accommodation tax system.
・Tax rate before change (for stays up to August 31, 2025)
| Accommodation fee (per person per night) | Tax amount |
| ￥5,000～￥7,000 | none |
| ¥7,000 to under ¥15,000 | ￥100 |
| ¥15,000 to under ¥20,000 | ￥200 |
| Over ￥20,000 | ￥300 |
・New tax rate (for stays from September 1, 2025 onwards)
| Accommodation fee (per person per night) | Tax amount |
| ￥5,000～￥7,000 | ￥200 |
| ¥7,000 to under ¥15,000 | |
| ¥15,000 to under ¥20,000 | ￥400 |
| Over ￥20,000 | ￥500 |

*The accommodation fee is the price per person per night for a stay without meals, consumption tax, hot spring tax, etc., plus any associated service charges.
